  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

For the Chocolate Pecan Filling

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, sugar, and salt.
  4. Mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs and begins to come together.
  5. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.

2. Make the Chocolate Pecan Filling

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  2. Stir in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  3. Mix until everything is evenly combined.

3. Assemble and Bake

  1. Pour the chocolate pecan filling evenly over the warm crust.
  2. Spread the pecans and chocolate chips evenly across the surface.
  3. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the filling is set around the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  4. Remove from the oven and place the pan on a wire rack.
  5. Allow the bars to cool completely, then refrigerate until firm enough to slice.

4. Slice and Serve

  1. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan.
  2. Cut into 16 squares or bars with a sharp knife.
  3. Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Pecan Pie Bars

  • Toast the pecans: Lightly toasting the pecans before adding them brings out their delicious nutty flavor.
  • Use parchment paper: This makes removing and slicing the bars much easier.
  • Let them cool completely: Cooling helps the filling set properly and gives you clean slices.
  • Choose your chocolate: Semi-sweet chocolate chips balance the sweetness of the filling, but dark chocolate also works beautifully.
  • Store properly: Keep the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Enjoy these rich, gooey, chocolatey pecan pie bars! ❤️
