Classic Southern Fried Pork Chops


2 pork chops

Marinade Ingredients:

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1/3 cup olive oil

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 Tablespoon brown sugar

pepper to taste


Place all marinade ingredients in a medium bowl, whisk to combine. Place the pork chops in a plastic ziplock bag big enough to hold the chops and marinade. Add the marinade to the plastic bag. Zip it almost closed, squeeze all the air out of the bag and completely close the bag.

Place the bag in the refrigerator and marinate chops overnight, turning the bag often to make sure all the surfaces of the chops are covered in the marinade.

When it’s ready to grill, take the chops out of the bag and discard any marinade that is still on them. Before grilling, allow the chops to to room temperature. Chops should be cooked for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how hot your grill is.
