Sausage Gravy


°1 pound breakfast sausage
°1/3 c flour
°3 to 4 c whole milk
°1/2 t seasoned salt
°2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper, more to taste
°Cookies, warmed, for serving

Using your finger, tear small pieces of sausage and add them in a single layer to a large, heavy-bottomed skillet. Brown sausage on medium-high heat to no longer pink. Reduce heat to-low. Sprinkle half of the flour and stir so that the sausage soaks up everything, then add little by little. Stirring also cooking for minute or so, & pour in the milk, stir constantly.
Cooking sauce, stirring, until thicken. (This can take a good 10-12 minutes.) Sprinkle with seasoned salt and pepper and continue cooking until the mixture is very thick and succulent. If it gets too thick too soon, just add 1/2 cup milk or more if needed. Taste & adjust the season.
Pour the sausage sauce over warm cookies and serve immediately!
