Southern Macaroni & Tomatoes

You can make a big pot of this for around $4. I like Creamette Macaroni, and Red Gold canned tomatoes. Cornbread goes great with this dish. I even just like a butter sandwich with it.

1 (16 oz) box elbow macaroni
2 (14.5 oz) cans whole tomatoes, undrained and broken up. Or 2 cans of stewed tomatoes.
2 tablespoons margarine
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Cook the macaroni in salted water according to package directions, drain. Return macaroni to the pot along with the remaining ingredients. Simmer over medium heat until hot, 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
*You could double this recipe to feed a crowd.
*This is just a basic recipe. You can add whatever you’d like to dress it up or to make it to fit your own tastes. Hamburger, onion, seasonings.
