Maple Glazed Twists

°The basic recipe for puff pastry with maple
°2 medium onions, minced
°1/2 cup maple syrup (preferably amber for its rich taste)
°Salt and pepper, to taste
°Flour (for the work surface)

In a non-stick pan, sauté the onions in the maple syrup for about 20 min
Salt and pepper.
Let cool.

On a floured work surface, roll out the puff pastry into a 46 cm x 20 cm (18 in x 8 in) rectangle.
Spread the onion mixture over half of the surface, then fold the other half of the dough over the onions. Cut into strips and twist.
Place the twists on the baking sheet and freeze for about 1 hour or until the dough is semi-frozen.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F), rack in the middle.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until the twists are golden brown.
Serve warm or cold.
