Stove Top Meatloaf is a delicious twist on traditional meatloaf to make a very simple family meal! Lean ground beef is combined with our favorite filling mix on the stove for a delicious dinner with little effort!
It is prepared and cooked in a small skillet, then this meatloaf is sautéed on a plate and filled with mashed potatoes and gravy!
I’ve always loved meatloaf, hot or cold, in a sandwich, and leftovers … pretty much any way! My mom always made a traditional meat loaf with onions and breadcrumbs and topped with chili ketchup sauce.
How to make meatloaf
When my friend told me she ate a meatloaf made with broth and stuffing over the stove, I knew it should be on my list. This easy, stove-top recipe is a new recipe. This recipe uses a filling on the stovetop instead of breadcrumbs. Since it’s already filled with spices, spices, and onions, the prep for this meal is super quick!
How long to cook a meatloaf
Cooking this in a packet pot reduces cooking time compared to a typical meatloaf (and gives you a delicious, crispy exterior). You will want to make sure that the ball tray is well sprayed to prevent the meatloaf from sticking
Meat loaf should cook on top of the stove for about 45-55 minutes or until the thermometer has reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit. I always let the meatloaf rest for a few minutes before slicing it so that it remains nice and juicy and does not crumble while slicing!
What is served with meatloaf
Once cooked, we fill this delicious meatloaf with ladles full of our favorite creamy mashed potatoes and garnish all the way with gravy.
Adding a side of green beans or a side salad (and a slice of crunchy bread) turns that into a meal your whole family will love! Above all, we love to serve it with easy baked zucchini!
° 1 package of Stove Filling (Use one of your favorite flavors, I prefer chicken, but the herbs taste good too!)
° 1 cup hot water
° 2 packages of brown stock mixture (one for the inside and one for the top)
° 1.5 lb. ground beef
° 1 cup of cold water
° 2 large eggs, beaten
- Instructions :
In a medium bowl, add the filling mixture and a cup of hot water.
Leave the filling for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, in another medium bowl, mix one packet of brown broth with a cup of cold water.
Add ground meat and eggs, and mix well (I know it’s easier to do with your hands, it’s gross).
After the filling has rest for 5 minutes, mix the filling mixture with the minced meat mixture.
Grease a frying pan with a non-stick spray, then press the minced meat mixture into the pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes, or until the pink color is gone.
Once baked, let it rest for 5 minutes, then turn the skillet over a plate.
Serve with mashed potatoes and brown gravy in the center of a meatloaf.
